Mr. Julius: A Tuesday Morning Revelation

You may sink in a shallow dream with a heavy heart.

SOFRESHMORE Retreat was incredible!  In fewer than twenty-four hours, a group of sophomores and freshmen (and Greg Steward) had the opportunity to hear God’s Word, play, and serve together.

Dr. Mike Jackson was our speaker for the weekend, and his lessons fell under the theme of “Here Am I.”  We focused on the story of Moses’ encounter with the burning bush of God found in Exodus, where Moses is asked to dedicate himself fully to God despite his excuses and imperfections.

We took the time to take advantage of Camp Garner Creek’s excellent playground facilities, including a very strange, very fun wavy-teeter-totter thing.

Sophomore Experience has a new branch this year: SophSERVE, where sophomores (and in this case, freshmen) have the opportunity to work with ministries to further God’s Kingdom.  On retreat, we were able to help prepare gifts for an upcoming birthday party for the local homeless at Room In The Inn.
